Copyright & Takedowns

Every artist here warrants that they own or control what they upload. When that turns out to be untrue, we want to hear about it and we act.

Sending a takedown notice

Email akariplay@gmail.com with the subject line Copyright notice. To act on it we need:

• Your name, address, phone number and email.
• What work you own, and where the original can be found.
• The exact page on Akari Play carrying the material — a link to the track page.
• A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by the rights holder or the law.
• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them.
• Your physical or electronic signature.

What we do with it

We take the track down promptly, stop it from being sold, and tell the artist why. If listens had already been sold, those buyers keep what they paid for; the artist's earnings on the disputed track are held.

Counter-notices

If you are the artist and your track was taken down in error, reply to that notice with your explanation and your rights in the work. If the claim is withdrawn or fails, we restore the track.

Repeat infringers

Accounts that repeatedly upload material they do not have the rights to are closed, and any held earnings are returned to the affected rights holders where we can identify them.
